This is the cover of a new book I have designed for my good friend Robin Bayley, and his journey in search of his Great Grandfather who lived in Mexico before the revolution. It is all true, and pretty unbelievable. He also featured on the John Peel Radio 4 show home truths a few years ago about this trip. It's a great tale and hopefully will get published soon.

Is this the worst television advert ever?

This DFS advert has been banned. Not because it is bloody awful, but because the models used are very small people, who make the furniture look really big, the sneaky dogs. The models are just human, like anyone they have to put food on the table, it is a shame they are subjected to this ritual humiliation by DFS's marketing agency.

Logo evolution

It's interesting to see how to see how the big corporations develop their logos over time, They all seem to develop to fit in with the fashion of the time, whilst retaining an element throughtout. The success of some brands can be seen when they feel it can stand to lose the text in a logo, see Nike and Apple.

We have just recently completed this nice logo for Gillian Weir, It needed to get across a hi quality feel because the market that Gillian deals with is High end interior decoration for houses and Yaughts.
Your logo is the marque that says everything about your company. It signifies your brand values which could be anything from quality, fun, value, safe, but your logo has to reflect that and your personality. Over time customers will recognise these values and (hopefully) keep on coming back for more business.
